Keeping you safe at The Broadway

The Broadway is continuing to work hard for your safety in accordance with government advice.

Keeping our staff and customers safe continues to be of paramount importance. We’ve therefore introduced a number of simple customer protocols which are visible on new signage in the Centre, to help keep your shopping experience as stress-free and safe as possible.

Face coverings

In accordance with government advice, wearing a face covering is required in all shops and around the rest of The Broadway. The liability for wearing a face covering lies with each individual and therefore we ask shoppers to be mindful of their own and other people’s safety.

Cleaning and hand sanitisers

Our cleaning teams are working to an enhanced schedule to ensure the Centre is a safe place for staff and customers. There will be hand sanitiser stations throughout the Centre and we encourage shoppers to use these regularly to maintain high levels of hygiene.

Our toilet facilities are open daily (9am – 6pm Mon – Sat, 11am – 5pm Sun) and for your safety will be closed hourly for an enhanced deep clean of all touch points.

Maintain a social distance

We’ve introduced new signage to help shoppers maintain a safe, social distance from staff and other shoppers whilst in the Centre. There are floor vinyls throughout the Centre to help people keep the advised two metres apart.

One-way system

Outdoor and indoor signage will indicate which doors are to be used to enter and exit the mall. The mall is operating on a one-way system however, shoppers will have the opportunity to crossover to the other side of the Centre. Shoppers will also be asked to keep to the left and to not stop walking, with slower walkers requested to keep to the far left.

Centre capacity

Due to social distancing, there will be reduced capacity in the Centre.  To control this there will be an out-of-Centre queuing system implemented and a queuing system on floor vinyls to enter individual retailers. Furthermore, due to the restriction on numbers of shoppers permitted in the Centre we may not be able to allow groups of shoppers outside of family units and carers into the Centre.

Car park

The car park is now open as a cashless facility. To gain access to the mall from the car park, the lifts and stairs will be in use with social distancing rules to be adhered to.

The food court

We have introduced limited seating areas in and around the food court for shoppers to eat their food as required. However, we must stress that the food court will remain a takeaway only service until further notice and therefore trays will not be provided. Queuing for individual food retailers will be demonstrated by floor vinyls.

Whilst it is crucial that visitors to the Centre adhere to the new guidance to remain safe and for the safety of others, we understand that this is a new situation for us all and will be implementing regular PA announcements to remind shoppers to socially distance themselves.
